James Shelton

James T. Shelton has maintained a private law practice in Clarendon for over 30 years. During his career, he has gained the respect and trust of clients and peers throughout the State and earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to his clients and community. His primary practice areas include real estate law, probate and estate planning, and business and commercial transactional matters.

James has served as city attorney for the communities of Clarendon, Memphis, and Groom, and as the County Attorney for Donley County. He also previously served as District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District. He is a Past-President of the 100th Judicial District Bar Association and former member of the District 13 State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee. James is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Amarillo Bar Association.

James has also distinguished himself as a valuable citizen to the community. He has served as Secretary of the Clarendon Independent School District Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Administrative Board of the First United Methodist Church, and President of the Clarendon Lions Club.
